Quasiclassical approach and spin-orbit coupling
We discuss the quasiclassical Green function method for a two-dimensional electron gas in the presence of spin-orbit coupling, with emphasis on the meaning of the ξ-integration procedure. As an application of our approach, we demonstrate how the spin-Hall conductivity, in the presence of spin-flip scattering, can be easily obtained from the spin-density continuity equation.
متن کاملMatching Weak Coupling and Quasiclassical Expansions for Dual Qes Problems
Certain quasi-exactly solvable systems exhibit an energy reflection property that relates the energy levels of a potential or of a pair of potentials. We investigate two sister potentials and show the existence of this energy reflection relationship between the two potentials. We establish a relationship between the lowest energy edge in the first potential using the weak coupling expansion and...
متن کاملMinimum electrical and thermal conductivity of graphene: a quasiclassical approach.
We investigate the minimum conductivity of graphene within a quasiclassical approach taking into account electron-hole coherence effects which stem from the chiral nature of low energy excitations. Relying on an analytical solution of the kinetic equation in the electron-hole coherent and incoherent cases, we study both the electrical and the thermal conductivity whose relation satisfies the Wi...
متن کاملQuasiclassical Green ’ s function approach to mesoscopic superconductivity
Recent experiments on mesoscopic normal-metal–superconductor heterostructures resolve properties on length scales and at low temperatures such that the temperature is below the Thouless energy kBT ≤ ETh. We describe the properties of these systems within the framework of quasiclassical many-body techniques. Diffusive and ballistic systems are covered, both in equilibrium and nonequilibrium situ...
متن کاملEnergy Reflection Symmetry of Lie-Algebraic Problems: Where the Quasiclassical and Weak Coupling Expansions Meet
We construct a class of one-dimensional Lie-algebraic problems based on sl(2) where the spectrum in the algebraic sector has a dynamical symmetry E ↔ −E. All 2j + 1 eigenfunctions in the algebraic sector are paired, and inside each pair are related to each other by a simple analytic continuation x → ix, except the zero mode appearing if j is integer. At j → ∞ the energy of the highest level in ...
